Volkswagen is testing the Race Touareg in the Alps

Volkswagen is currently testing ist 2011 Race Touareg in the Alps. Unmodified on the outside, we reckon the car will be given a slight power boost and come with a more reliable electric.
This year’s car featured a bi-turbo 2.5-litre five-cylinder TDI with 300 hp. The torque of over 600 Nm accelerated the 1.8-tons offroader prototype in 6.1 seconds from standstill to 100 km/h. The updated Race Touareg will make its first public appearance at the next Dakar Rally in the very first days of 2011.
