It was only a matter of time that Bentley – after the new GT – would re-invent the GTC. Like the coupe, the open Continental has different proportions witch make the big convertible less plump. In addition, there is interesting news about the engines.
The Conti GTC will get new headlights, front bumper, and front fenders, giving the entire front end a dramatic new look. The seam at the headlights has been lowered to the height of the air intakes, giving it a more polished, cleaner face. The side mirrors also take on a new, more rounded shape.
V8 What is especially interesting is the new engine line. This will not only cease the 6.0 W12 (575 bhp). A V8 is in development and comes in two versions: with one turbo and a twin-turbo version. The first produces 415 bhp, the other 555 bhp. The extra discount is that they are much more economical than the W12. There is also speculation about a V8 diesel.
Introduction The updated Bentley Continental GT Convertible is likely to make its first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show this autumn. Though rumours suggest first official pictures will be available yet in early July.
