Unlike the regular Cayenne prototypes we spotted earlier, this Cayenne has quad tail pipes, wheels from the current Cayenne Turbo and sportier, lower profile tires. So we can be sure, this is the Turbo-version of the new Cayenne!
This test car also appears to have the brake package from the current Cayenne Turbo. More importantly, our photographer reported a thunderous exhaust note as this prototype pulled away at high speed.
More compact
In general, the Cayenne will obviously shrink in size. The roofline will be lower, the windshield more streamlined and the D-pillar will have an increased slope. The B- and C- pillars will also be blacked out.
2010
While the launch date seems a little uncertain at this point, Porsche would like to launch their new SUV by mid-2010. The Turbo variant, as seen here, will probably launch anywhere from six to twelve months after the regular model.
