Although Iron Man II, staring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, won’t hit the movie theatres until May of 2010, we’ve been busy catching the hot wheels around Hollywood. Today we caught Robert Downey Jr. himself driving a pre-production Audi R8 5.2-liter V10 convertible while a camera car caught the action!
Decked out in full production trim – including the V10 badges – this is likely the best look you’ll see until the expected Frankfurt Motor Show debut. And the latest rumours suggest that the V10 powertrain may be the only one offered for the convertible model.

Besides the R8 5.2-liter V10 Spider and Robert Downey Jr., other Ironman II stars include Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Micky Rourke, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. These were obviously taken on public roadways, but we’re still expecting a call from Paramount Pictures…
