Saab´s all new 2011 9-4X SUV has lost almost all of its heavy camouflage, and we can now confirm the production model will take heavily after the Saab BioPower concept that debuted at the 2008 Detroit NAIAS.
Code-named GMT168, this Saab will start production at the Ramos Arizpe plant in the United States in the early half of 2011. As a reminiscence to the former co-operation with the U.S. company, the 9-4X will be based on GM's TE-chassis and will share this platform with the Cadillac SRX. In addition to regular gasoline motors, the 9-4x will pack a new 250-hp diesel motor developed by GM and VM Motori. Saab's "XWD" all-wheel-drive system will also be available.
