These new spy photos prove once again that MINI’s production models are close to the concept cars. The MINI Roadster will be presented later this year and will hit the showrooms early 2012.
Like the MINI Roadster Concept (IAA Frankfurt 2009) the production model contains a softtop roof. Though, it is still unknown whether this should be put down manual - just like the concept - or completely automatically. The last option is the better choice for MINI with its image as 'premium brand'.
Always Open Timer We can all assume that the MINI Roadster is a joyful car that handles very well in corners, while the relatively long wheelbase contributes to relaxed boulevard cruising and rolling roads. When the hot sun arrives the hood goes down of course, and the Always Open Timer will records the time it’s stay down. Under the hood there are the familiar MINI engines with the 1.6 turbo petrol engine in the Cooper S version.
