New Merc SLK still goes round and round

Tuesday October 5 2010 - Gerben

Our sources say the year 2012 is the year of the new Merc SLK but it is one of the rare occasions we have doubts about this information. The latest prototypes look almost ready for production so that long it can’t be anymore, right?!

Months and months if not years, we have to purchase the new Mercedes SLK. Meanwhile Das Haus gave us are increasingly looking at the model. We expect the next SLK, the first in its class that had such a roof way back in 1995, stick with the formula off a coupe-cabriolet. In this market segment he is now being joined by the BMW Z4 as the only two competitors to offer such a hard roof. The SLK seems to be more of the same anyway. Take the current imaginary within you, pull the curves slightly right and you actually have the new SLK in front of you.

Diesel engines
This nature we also see reflected in the expected range of engines: the top models feature a six cylinder and underneath you find four cylinders with a compressor. The AMG version carries the full range of course. Newcomers will probably be in the form of diesels. Because these engines have now also found their way into the sportiest era’s of the automotive industry. Also there are rumors about an SLK Hybrid.
