Less than a week ago we were surprised when we saw some spyshots of the Audi A7. Audi has been very careful with the car, but we expect that is about to change. It is the second time in one week that we caught the car and it suggests that Audi is testing it on public roads from now on.
Audi is of course releasing the four-seat A7 as a challenger to the Mercedes-Benz CLS, the new Porsche Panamera and the Aston Martin Rapide. All three rivals are about 5 metres long.
It will hit the road in autumn 2010 as a high-end vehicle. The A7 will sport some pretty powerful engines, including a 3.0-litre force-fed petrol, a new turbo V8 and a V8 TDI pulling around 800Nm. Quattro AWD will feature and work in tandem with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
