Mercedes SL a bit more naked

Monday April 11 2011 - Gerben

With luck, the new Mercedes SL has set this year. Here we see the latest pictures of the roadster now definitely going to be a magnified SLK.

The new SL has long been our guest and really have no secrets anymore. These fresh images are, despite the further peeling camouflage, also not really a surprise with the recently proposed third-generation SLK in mind. Both Mercedes roadsters look almost the same, only the external dimensions will be different. Thus expects the new SL Magic Sky Control, the ingenious glass roof panel that debuted on the SLK.

4-cylinder
Concrete information about the available engines we haven’t yet, but they are fairly simple to guess. At least the new 3.5 liter V6 makes part of the palette, and the SL 500 with 408 hp V8. With a lot lighter body than its predecessor we expect a 4-cylinder (1.8 turbo) as a future entry-level model. Also a diesel will join the engine club of the new SL-Class. Of course, the absolute top model is the AMG version, presumably with the V8-BiTurbo.
