The European version of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata is now expected to come with the i40 moniker which is a part of the conversion of most Hyundai models to a numerical naming system in order to make Hyundai more, well, European. More variants of the car – including a hybrid – are in the pipeline, and here we have the best shots yet of the i40 Wagon.
The prototype was snapped undergoing road tests in the Alps. With its low profile and sloping roof, the i40 Wagon will be very lifestyle-oriented and less practical. Engines will come from the standard i40 sedan, and the range will include a pair of direct injection (GDI) four-cylinder petrol engines, as well as an eventual gasoline-electric hybrid model.
