At Volvo plays the station wagon a very prominent role. The V-models guarantee always big sales numbers and by this reason the Swedish car manufacturer will launch also a station of the recently presented new Volvo S60. It name? How surprisingly: V60.
"The all-new Volvo S60 is sculpted to move you," says Stephen Odell, President and CEO of Volvo Cars, and what’s visible from our exclusive spy-shots, this goes for the V60 as well. "It looks and drives like no other Volvo before and the car's technology will help you to be safer and more confident behind the wheel." With these few lines Volvo summaries the expectations.
Pedestrains are safe
"Our aim for 2020 is that no-one should be killed or seriously injured in a Volvo," said Senior Safety Advisor Thomas Broberg previously regarding the brand's overall safety strategy. One of the S60 biggest selling points will therefore be called the Pedestrian Detection system which, as the name implies, can detect pedestrians and apply brakes automatically should the driver fail to do so in time. Nothing is known yet about engines for the new V60 but it can be safely assumed that turbocharging will still play a significant role. Reportedly, plug-in hybrid vehicles are also being testing. The all-new V60 will be publically unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show followed by the start of production in autumn.
