We recently caught some of the first winter testing spy shots of the upcoming Peugeot 508 saloon, the successor of both, the 407 and 607 models and due for presentation in 2011, and now we can reveal the estate variant of the car as well – likely to be called the 508 SW.
Not much can be said of what the wagon will look like from these photos, but rumours suggest it will be a sleeker car with softer and more aerodynamic design lines than the clunkier shapes of the current model. Our spy photographer also spoke about a lower position for the headlights.
Concept
We've already had a preview of the upcoming 508 thanks to the '5 by Peugeot' conceptcar which the French manufacturer presented in Geneva. Unfortunately it only gives us an impression of the saloon and not from this SW.
Engines
The 508 will likely feature Peugeot's standard array of large diesel and petrol engines, and perhaps be fitted with the diesel-electric hybrid drivetrain the automaker has developed. Technology to make the 508 competitive will include goodies such as a hydro-pneumatic suspension, a head-up display and adaptive headlamps.
