On November 25, GM subtly slipped the sentence "Production of the Camaro Convertible in Oshawa beginning in Q1 2011" into a press release for the 2011 Buick Regal. Our sources can narrow the start of production date down even further to February of 2011.
With firm confirmation of the convertible's build date, GM hasn't wasted any time in bringing a drop top Camaro prototype to Michigan. We managed to snag several pics of this soft-top Camaro SS slipping through a gate right before dusk! While this is good news for throngs of Camaro enthusiasts, the bad news is they won't be able to buy one for 15 months. But why is this car driving around in Michigan? Does Chevrolet wants to tell us that the car is still alive?
