Audi A6 now in sober but illuminating black disguise
Monday October 11 2010 - Gerben
We´ve seen mules for the next-gen Audi A6 during the past year and heavily disguised prototypes of the real machine just recently, but today, we have the first look at prototype that wears barely any disguise!
Right away we can see this A6 is wearing a new front clip. Angular aggressive headlights are easy to see along with new styling on the lower front fascia. New door handles and side mirrors are also present on this prototype. The 2012 A6 will undergo a big change underneath, moving from Volkswagen's Group C-chassis to Audi's MLB, modular aluminum chassis.
Modern engines The engine range should include the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 and a new 4.0-litre V8 Audi is currently working on. Sophisticated TDI motors will be part of the range, too, of course. Two new transmissions will also be in store for the new A6 – an 8-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual clutch. Watch for production to start in the first half of 2011 at Audi's Neckarsulm, Germany plant.
