Completely new the eight-cylinder in the 2012 Mercedes SLK isn’t. Mercedes-AMG will use namely the AMG 5.5 V8-BiTurbo. You know, the same engine in the CLS 63 AMG and E 63 AMG...but without the two turbochargers because 544 hp is probably something too much for a compact roadster. Fear not, the custom V8 will still contain more power than the current SLK 55 AMG with 360 hp. We think about 410 hp.
Visually is the new Mercedes SLK 55 AMG also a promising sports car. Think striking spoilers and side skirts and a nice corpulent buttocks with four of those attention-getting exhaust pipes. The best fun starts when the throttle goes wide open: all hell breaks loose. We expect the new SLK 55 AMG next summer.
