When I visited the Nürburgring last week I also had the privilege to see the McLaren MP4-12C in real. And what a fantastic sound produces that car! But that´s not all. While I was standing there and took some pictures I also photographed the ´Airbrake´ from the MP4-12C.
The active Airbrake is a innovation that made its debut on the F1 supercar and was also incorporated into the SLR. It deploys hydraulically under braking, or when the driver wants to trim the car for increased downforce by using a switch on the Active Dynamics Panel. On these pictures we can see it in action.
